What is Our Little World?
Our Little World is a private baby book app for iOS. It finds your child in the photos and videos already on your phone, lays out their life month by month, and gives both parents one family space with no feed, no followers and no ads.
Which devices does it work on?
iPhone and iPad. It also has widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen.
How do I get it?
Download Our Little World from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. You subscribe in the app, where the App Store shows the price, the trial and the renewal terms before you pay.
How does it know which photos are my child?
Their birthday tells it where to start looking, and you confirm their face from a few photos. It suggests faces and you say yes or no. It doesn’t decide who your child is on its own.
What about twins, or siblings who look alike?
Add them together. When a match is close, the app asks you which child it is.
Why is a month empty?
In a month where you haven’t confirmed a face, Growing up shows the app’s best photo of your child and marks it Picked by the app. A month with no sorted photo of your child stays empty.
Privacy and your photos
Does it upload my photo library?
No. Organizing, including face, smile and laughter recognition, runs on your iPhone. The only photos and videos that leave your phone are ones a parent shares and ones that go to the other parent. When you add words or a voice note to a photo, they go to the other parent too. You can turn this off in Settings. Letters and Firsts stay on your phone.
Does it change anything in Apple Photos?
No. Your originals stay where they are, and taking a photo out of an album never deletes it.
What happens to my child’s face data?
So both parents’ phones recognize your child and each other, the app shares face prints of your child and of each parent, a numerical description of a face rather than the photo, and each parent’s yes or no decisions. They are encrypted, stored in your family’s private space, and readable only by the two parents, never by invited family members. Erasing everything, leaving the family or deleting your account removes them.
Who can see what I share?
Only the parents in your family and the people you invite. A shared photo is sent as a resized copy without its location or other embedded photo metadata. A family link shows nothing in a web browser.
Do you show ads or sell my data?
No. There are no ads, no public feed, no likes and no followers. We do not sell personal information, and family content is not used to build a social graph.
Is it a backup of my photo library?
No. Our Little World is not a backup of your photo library. Your originals stay in Apple Photos, so keep using iCloud Photos or another backup for them.
Can I turn off usage data?
Yes. In the app, open You and turn off Share usage data. Usage data never includes your photos, videos, words, voice notes, names, birthdays, locations or face data.
Family sharing
Does each parent need a plan?
No. One plan covers both parents and every child, whichever parent buys it.
How many family members can I invite?
The Family plan includes two invited family members, like grandparents, at no extra cost. Family Plus has room for up to ten invited family members.
What do invited family members see?
Only the moments the parents choose to share, with any words or voice notes attached. They never see your photo library or your child’s face data.
Plans and billing
How much does it cost?
Family is $7.99 a month or $69.99 a year. Family Plus, for a bigger family circle, is $11.99 a month or $99.99 a year. Prices are in US dollars and billed through the App Store.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan starts free: 7 days on monthly or 14 days on yearly.
How do I cancel?
At any time in your Apple Account settings. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, so cancel before the renewal date if you don’t want the next period to begin.
How do I get a refund?
App Store subscriptions are billed and refunded by Apple. Request a refund through your Apple Account and Apple’s refund tools. We can help with access problems at support@ourlittleworld.me.
What happens if we stop paying?
The app becomes read-only. You can still read your Journal, look at your Favorites and export everything you made. Photos the two of you shared are kept for 30 days after a paid plan ends, so you can renew or export them. After a trial that ends without a plan, they’re removed about a day later. Nothing in Apple Photos is touched.
Can I export everything?
Yes, with or without a plan. Export everything saves your words, voice notes, letters, Firsts, favorites and the choices you made as files you keep, and can include the original photos and videos of moments you confirmed.
Can I give it as a gift?
Gift years open on this website soon. Until then, send new parents the App Store link so they can start their free trial.
Account and support
How do I sign in?
With a code sent to your email, or with Sign in with Apple. We never receive your Apple Account password.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account in the app. Deleting it removes your face data and asks Apple to revoke the app’s access to your Apple Account. Email support@ourlittleworld.me if you need help.
How do I contact support?
Email support@ourlittleworld.me with the email you use in the app and a short description.
