Why do parents worry about losing a baby book?

A locked baby book can hold years of photos, dates, and notes, and some of those notes may not exist anywhere else.

In the second, older content is limited or locked until you pay again, sometimes with a cap on how many photos you can see or upload. In the third, an inactive or free account is archived or closed after a period of time, and the entries go with it. Policies can also change after you join. Before you commit years of memories to any app, look for three answers in writing. Is anything deleted when you stop paying? Can you export everything you added, including notes and voice recordings? And do your original photos stay on your phone, or only inside the app?
What does Our Little World do if you stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. If your plan ends, the app becomes read-only. You can still see everything you added and export it. When you want to add moments again, you choose a plan and carry on where you left off.
Your photos never depended on the app in the first place. Our Little World reads your library in Apple Photos and never changes or deletes anything in it. The originals stay where they were, on your phone and in whatever backup you already use.
One thing is left out of exports on purpose. Face data never leaves the phone, so it isn't uploaded, shared, or included in an export.
Why does read-only matter?
Read-only means the baby book stays yours to open. You can scroll back to the first week, play a voice note, or read a letter you wrote, without paying first. If money is tight for a few months, or you simply stop using the app for a while, nothing is taken away while you decide.
It also means you don't have to export in a hurry before a deadline.
What should you check before choosing a baby book app?
- Find out what happens to your content if you stop paying, and look for the answer on the app's own site.
- Check whether export is available at any time, not only while you pay.
- Find out whether the app works from your original photos or only from copies you upload.
- Look at what the plan covers. A plan that charges each parent separately, or caps uploads, changes the cost over several years.
- Read the most recent reviews, not only the overall rating.
