The best baby book app depends on what you want at the end. The Short Years and Baby Notebook suit parents who want a printed book, Qeepsake suits parents who need daily prompts, FamilyAlbum and Tinybeans suit families sharing with grandparents, and BackThen suits families on Android or the web. Most charge a subscription, a book, or both.

We make Our Little World, a private baby book app for iPhone and iPad, so Our Little World appears in its own labelled block below and is not ranked. The list is ordered by use case. We read each app's App Store listing, pricing and help pages and recent App Store reviews on 15 Oct 2026.

Which baby book app should you choose?

Prices come from each app's US App Store listing, linked in the first column, or its own site where noted, as of 15 Oct 2026. "Ads" means the listing carries Apple's "Contains Advertising" label.

Which baby book apps make a printed book?

The Short Years, Baby Notebook and BabyPage turn prompted answers and photos into printed pages.

The Short Years, for a printed book built as you go

The Short Years app is free, and its shop listed the baby book at $129 as of 15 Oct 2026. Once a week the app asks for a photo and a few answers, and The Short Years prints and mails pages after every three chapters, according to its listing. A "Digital Book Download" costs $7.99 on the same listing as of 15 Oct 2026. The Short Years app is built around the printed binder, so it suits parents who plan to buy the book.

Baby Notebook, for a hardbound book at the first birthday

Baby Notebook gives the first three chapters free, then charges $6.99 a month (Plus) or $49.99 a year (Premium), per its App Store listing as of 15 Oct 2026. The book costs $165 plus shipping on Plus and $99 plus shipping on Premium, per Baby Notebook's FAQ on 15 Oct 2026. A digital PDF of your book is a $9.99 in-app purchase. Several reviewers in 2024 and 2025 object to paying a subscription to fill in the book and then paying again to print it.

BabyPage, for designed pages and a pregnancy journal

BabyPage is free with basic features, and BabyPage PLUS costs $7.99 a month, $13.99 for three months or $44.99 a year, per its listing as of 15 Oct 2026. PLUS adds friends and family access, multiple child profiles and 10% off books. BabyPage's homepage links only to the App Store, and we found no Google Play listing. Some low-rated reviews from 2024 and 2025 describe crashes and pages that don't save.

Which app is best for daily prompts?

Qeepsake texts you age-based questions, and each reply becomes a journal entry that can be printed as a book.

Qeepsake, for daily prompts by text

On 15 Oct 2026, Qeepsake's App Store listing showed Essential at $4.99 a month or $47.99 a year and Premium at $9.99 a month or $95.99 a year. The listing says you can share access with a spouse or other contributors, and Qeepsake's pricing page puts family contributors on Premium. Canceling drops you to Qeepsake Lite, with up to one prompt a week and five photos a month, and Qeepsake's help center says it has begun deactivating inactive free accounts "as we move to a paid-only system." Qeepsake has no lasting free plan. More detail is on our Qeepsake comparison.

Which apps are best for sharing with grandparents?

FamilyAlbum, Tinybeans and Keepr Circle are sharing apps first, with a timeline built from what you upload.

FamilyAlbum, the best free option for sharing with family

FamilyAlbum is free with ads, and its paid plans run from $2.99 a month (One) to $10.99 a month or $109 a year (Family Pro), per its listing as of 15 Oct 2026. FamilyAlbum's premium page says paid plans have no third-party ads and that bulk download comes only with Family Pro. FamilyAlbum is popular with far-away grandparents in recent reviews, and its help center says the free version includes unlimited storage and uploads, with videos under 2 minutes. The free plan shows ads between photos. See our FamilyAlbum comparison.

Tinybeans, for a long-running private family journal

Tinybeans' free plan has 20 uploads a month and 5 GB, and Tinybeans+ costs $7.99 a month or $74.99 a year with a second user account, ad-free use and 200 GB, per its listing as of 15 Oct 2026. Exporting a whole journal needs Tinybeans+ and the website, per Tinybeans' help center. Several 2025 reviewers say their older photos were locked once their journal passed the free plan's limits. See our Tinybeans comparison.

Keepr Circle, for grandparents who won't install an app

Keepr Circle sends a link that opens in a browser, so relatives need no app or account. On 15 Oct 2026, its listing said every core feature is free with 5 GB, a shared Family Hub of 10 GB for up to 3 members is free, and paid plans start at $4.99 a month for 100 GB. Keepr Circle shows no ads and says it runs no facial recognition. Keepr Circle is new and had too few App Store ratings to show a score on 15 Oct 2026.

Which baby book app works on Android?

BackThen suits families with Android phones or relatives on a computer. Tinybeans, Qeepsake, FamilyAlbum, The Short Years, Baby Notebook and Keepr Circle are also on Google Play.

BackThen, for Android, web and mixed-device families

BackThen gives 1 GB free and charges $6.49 a month for VIP, per its listing as of 15 Oct 2026. BackThen sorts uploads onto a timeline for each child, keeps full resolution, shows no ads and works on iOS, web, email and other mobile platforms. Exporting everything needs VIP and is limited to once per timeline every 30 days, per BackThen's export page. Every photo still has to be uploaded by hand. See our BackThen comparison.

Is there a baby book app that finds the photos for you?

Kyn is the one app in this list that scans your camera roll for your child.

Kyn, for automatic slideshows from your camera roll

Kyn finds your child's photos with on-device recognition and builds an album and slideshows, per its listing, with those features under Kyn Premium. Kyn's listing says nothing about notes, a second parent or export, and Kyn had 25 ratings on 15 Oct 2026. Prices and the other camera-roll apps are in our comparison of apps that find your baby in your camera roll.

The app we make: Our Little World is a private baby book app for iPhone and iPad, on the App Store since 14 Oct 2026. Our Little World finds your child in the photos and videos already on your iPhone, with face matching on the iPhone, and lays out their life month by month. Two parents share one family space. Grandparents and family members you invite can view what's shared with them, never face data. You can add Firsts, letters, voice notes and a nightly Tonight look-back.

As of 15 Oct 2026, Family costs $7.99 a month or $69.99 a year for 4 accounts, and Family Plus costs $11.99 a month or $99.99 a year for 12, per our pricing page. There is no free plan, only a trial of 7 days on monthly or 14 days on yearly. There are no ads. One plan covers both parents. Export covers everything you made, with or without a plan.

Our Little World is the wrong choice for Android families, anyone who wants a printed book and anyone who needs a free plan. Our Little World is also new and had too few App Store ratings to show a score on 15 Oct 2026.

How we compared

We read each app's US App Store listing, pricing and help pages and recent App Store reviews on 15 Oct 2026. Prices are each listing's in-app purchase prices, checked against the app's own pricing page where one exists. Features come from what each company says, since we did not test every plan. We also wrote about what happens to a baby book if you stop paying, which matters as much as the price. Our comparison grid puts these apps and others side by side.
